Fat Burning Pills

How do fat burners work?

fat-burning-pills-img1Perhaps the most controversial type of diet pill are those which aim to artificially boost the metabolism, commonly referred to as fat burners.

Often fat burning pills contain harsh stimulants which act on the central nervous system and generate a thermogenic effect. That is, that they increase body temperature and/or heart rate.

While this method can stimulate the metabolism it usually causes some other unwanted side effects. Typically reported adverse reactions by users include insomnia, heart palpitations and headaches.

In severe cases the FDA have reported that some fat burning formulations have even lead to heart attacks and strokes and has led to a number of products being taken off the shelves. Hydroxycut was one such popular fat burner now banned from sale after the death of a US teenager.

So is there a safe fat burner which actually works?

Many fat burning pills rely on caffeine as their weapon of choice, and is probably the most common ingredient used in formulations today. The risk of side effects is generally much lower when compared to the ephedras of yesteryear, although they do still exist when high concentrations are used.

There is also the issue of whether a fat burner will actually help you lose weight. Many leading nutritionists and dietitians claim that popular fat burners can only increase the amount of calories burned in a day at somewhere between 100-200 cals.

This figure will do little to make an impact on a person’s weight and is the main reason why appetite suppressants generally outsell fat burners 2-1. An effective appetite suppressant can help dieters cut around 40% of their daily calorie intake and is a more sensible measure over trying to burn more calories each day. Less calories in equates to reliable weight loss. Read more about appetite suppressants.

fat-burning-pills-img2However one fat burner – Capsiplex which was released early 2010 claims to burn as many as 278 extra calories per day. In fact according to recent clinical trials, this is as much as a 25 minute jog.

Of course if you are already watching your calorie intake and following a low calorie diet plan, Capsiplex could in theory help bring many dieters below their maintenance level of calories.

How does Capsiplex fat burner work?

Capsiplex is based entirely on recent research which links spicy food to a supercharged metabolism. Capsiplex contains red hot chili extract in slow digesting capsules, which ensure the product is not released to early. This overcomes the usual discomfort normally experienced when eating hot peppers.

In contrast to caffeine or green tea based fat burners, Capsiplex is entirely safe even for long term use, and causes no side effects whatsoever.

fat-burning-pills-img3User feedback is surprisingly good for a fat burner and Capsiplex appears to have been used and endorsed by a range of high profile celebrities.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lopez have both praised the supplement for its ability to burn stubborn fat whilst being entirely natural.
